Ingredients
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 4 bone-in chicken breast halves, with skin
- 2 cups spaghetti sauce
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a hot temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius, for optimal cooking results.
2
In a moderately sized bowl, blend together fresh spinach leaves, grated Parmesan cheese, and finely chopped onion until they are completely merged. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and fill each chicken breast with one portion, making sure to stuff it generously.
3
Place the stuffed chicken breasts into a standard-sized baking dish measuring 9x13 inches and cover them with a rich tomato-based sauce.
4
Bake the chicken breasts in the preheated oven for approximately 35 minutes, or until they are no longer pink in the center and the juices flow freely. To check for doneness, insert a food thermometer into the thickest part of the breast and wait until it reaches at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit, or 74 degrees Celsius.
5
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of each chicken breast and return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
