Ingredients
- 1 cup fat-free plain yogurt
- 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (2 inch) pieces fresh ginger root, minced
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander seed
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 4 (6 ounce) skinless, boneless salmon fillets
Instructions
1
Combine yogurt, cayenne pepper, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, ground coriander, cumin, salt, and turmeric in a resealable plastic bag. Seal the bag tightly and blend all the ingredients together until they are evenly distributed. Add salmon fillets to the marinade and massage them gently until they are thoroughly coated with the mixture. Cover the bag again and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
2
Heat your oven to its highest broil setting. Lightly spray a baking dish with cooking oil or non-stick spray to prevent the salmon from sticking. Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off onto a plate or paper towel. Place the salmon on the prepared baking dish and broil in the preheated oven until it flakes easily with a fork, flipping it over halfway through the cooking time - approximately 5 to 7 minutes per side.
