- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Heat a large cooking vessel over medium warmth. Melt the butter within it, stirring occasionally until it reaches a smooth consistency. Introduce the onion, red pepper, mushrooms, and garlic into the pot; cook and stir until they become tender and fragrant, approximately 10 minutes. Combine the cooked ingredients with the rice, then add the chicken stock to the mixture. Cover the pot and bring the liquid to a boil until it has been fully absorbed, roughly 10 minutes. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to enhance the flavor, along with salt and pepper to taste
