Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups finely chopped red bell peppers
- 1 1/4 cups finely chopped green bell peppers
- 1/4 cup finely chopped jalapeno peppers
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 (1.75 ounce) package powdered pectin
- 5 cups white sugar
Instructions
1
Acquire all necessary ingredients beforehand.
2
To ensure the jars are properly sanitized, follow the manufacturer's guidelines for sterilizing six 8-ounce canning jars and lids.
3
Heat water in a hot water canner, preparing it for the next steps.
4
Next, add bell peppers and jalapeño peppers to a large saucepan over high heat; combine vinegar and fruit pectin in the process.
5
Stir constantly to prevent scorching, bringing the mixture to a rolling boil.
6
Once boiling, add sugar and stir vigorously to combine. Bring the mixture back to a rolling boil, maintaining the high heat throughout.
7
Allow the mixture to continue boiling for 1 minute before removing it from the heat source. Carefully skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
8
Immediately fill sterile jars with jelly, leaving approximately 1/4-inch of space at the top. Secure the flat lids onto the jars and tighten the rings firmly.
9
Carefully position the jars in a rack, then slowly lower them into the hot water canner. The water level should cover the jars completely and be at a moderate temperature, rather than boiling.
10
Subsequently, bring the water to a boil; cover the canner and process the jars for 5 minutes.
11
Finally, serve and indulge in your homemade creation!
