Spicy Mulligatawny Soup
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/4 cup white rice
  • 1 skinless, boneless chicken breast half - cut into cubes
  • 1 pinch dried thyme
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, heated
Instructions
1
Acquire all necessary ingredients beforehand
2
Heat a large cooking vessel over medium thermal energy levels. Melt butter within it, stirring occasionally until fully incorporated. Introduce sliced onions, diced celery, and chopped carrots into the pot. Sauté these vegetables until they become tender and soft in texture, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
3
Add a powder made from wheat flour and curry spice to the pot, stirring constantly as they cook for an additional 5 minutes.
4
Next, add a chicken broth solution to the pot and mix it thoroughly. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then lower the heat to facilitate simmering for about 30 minutes.
5
Subsequently, add diced apple, cooked rice, chicken pieces, dried thyme leaves, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Continue simmering until the rice becomes tender in texture, taking approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
6
Finally, just prior to presenting the dish, stir in a hot cream solution.
7
Serve and indulge!
