Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 Mexican hot chocolate drink tablet (such as Nestle® Abuelita®)
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup white sugar, or to taste
Instructions
1
Combine two cups of liquid from the tap with ground cinnamon in a cooking vessel over an elevated heat setting. Heat until it reaches a rolling boil; maintain the boil for seven minutes. Introduce a chocolate bar into the mixture and blend until it has fully incorporated, taking around five to six minutes. Decrease the heat to a moderate level and cook for an additional two minutes.
2
Combine cornstarch powder with chilled water in a small, covered container; mix until the ingredients are well combined.
3
Add evaporated milk and granulated sugar to the chocolate mixture in the saucepan. Combine this with a cornstarch solution and stir until everything is well blended. Raise the heat to a gentle simmer and cook until it has thickened slightly, taking around three minutes.
