Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup Mexican-style hot sauce (such as Valentina)
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, or more to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a small baking dish and lightly coat it with cooking spray to prevent the chicken from sticking.
3
Now, place the chicken thighs in the prepared baking dish. In a separate bowl, whisk together hot sauce, paprika, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar until well combined.
4
Then, pour the sauce mixture over the chicken thighs in the baking dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil to retain moisture.
5
Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened, turned a rich brown color, and developed a caramelized crust.
6
Check the internal temperature of the chicken using an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of a thigh. The ideal reading should be at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 74 degrees Celsius.
