Spicy Korean Marinated Pork
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 3 green onions, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1/2 yellow onion, cut into 1/4-inch thick rings
  • 1 (2 pound) pork loin, cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
Instructions
1
Combine the vinegar, soy sauce, hot pepper paste, minced garlic, grated ginger, red pepper flakes, black pepper, sugar, chopped green onions, and thinly sliced yellow onion in a large mixing vessel. Thoroughly blend the ingredients until they are well incorporated. Add the sliced pork to the bowl and ensure it is evenly coated with the marinade, making sure every piece of meat is fully immersed. Transfer the pork mixture to a resealable plastic bag, remove any air pockets, seal it tightly, and refrigerate the contents for a minimum of 3 hours.
2
Heat canola oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork slices in batches and cook until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), indicating they are no longer pink in the center and have developed a light brown color on the outside, approximately 5 minutes per batch. Be cautious when cooking the meat as the spicy fumes can cause discomfort to your nasal passages.
