- 1 cinnamon stick
- 6 green cardamom pods
- 12 whole cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons Darjeeling tea leaves
- 1 cup milk

Combine water, brown sugar, grated ginger, a cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, whole cloves, bay leaves, fennel seeds, and peppercorns in a large pot; cover it and bring to a boil for 20 minutes.

Next, take the pot off the heat source, add loose-leaf tea leaves to the mixture, and let it sit for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
