Spicy Habanero Syrup
Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 habanero peppers, quartered
Instructions
1
Heat water to its boiling point in a saucepan, then gradually incorporate sugar into the boiling liquid until it is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth. Allow this process to take around 2-3 minutes, during which time you will notice the sugar dissolving into the water.
2
Add diced habanero peppers to the sugar-water mixture, then decrease the heat to a lower setting and let it simmer for approximately 15 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened to your liking and the peppers have imparted a subtle color to the liquid.
3
Once the syrup has reached the desired consistency, remove the saucepan from the heat source and permit it to cool, allowing this process to take around 1 hour.
4
Next, carefully remove the habanero peppers from the syrup and transfer the syrup to a clean glass container for storage.
