Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 red bell peppers, chopped
- 1 large Spanish onion, chopped
- 1 jalapeno pepper, diced, or more to taste
- 2 cups salsa
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning
- 1 (1 pound) package processed cheese (such as Velveeta®), cubed
- 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to its optimal temperature of three hundred fifty degrees Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to one seventy-five degrees Celsius.
2
Heat a large skillet over its medium-high heat setting. Cook and stir the turkey in the hot skillet until it is nicely browned and crumbly, taking anywhere from five to seven minutes.
3
Add sliced red bell peppers, a diced onion, and a chopped jalapeno pepper to the skillet. Continue cooking and stirring until the onion is just barely translucent, approximately five minutes.
4
Mix together salsa, sour cream, and taco seasoning in a large, oven-safe casserole dish. Combine the turkey mixture with processed cheese and mix until well combined.
5
Top the casserole dish with Cheddar cheese. Place it in the preheated oven and bake until the top is bubbling, taking approximately thirty minutes.
