Ingredients
- 16 chicken wings, split and tips discarded
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions
1
Place the chicken wings and sliced onion in a large, deep pot to begin cooking. Fill the pot with sufficient water to completely submerge the ingredients.
2
Next, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). During this time, prepare a separate saucepan by combining the soy sauce, ground cinnamon, whole cloves, and grated ginger. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it is warmed through.
3
Once the chicken wings have finished cooking in the water, carefully pour off the excess liquid and reserve it for future use as a broth. Then, add the warmed soy sauce mixture to the pot with the chicken wings. Use a spoon or spatula to ensure all of the wings are evenly coated with the sauce.
4
Transfer the chicken wings, now fully coated in the soy sauce mixture, to a single layer on a baking sheet.
5
Bake the chicken wings in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until they have achieved a crispy exterior. During this time, you may choose to periodically baste the wings with the sauce for added flavor.
