Spicy Crawfish Pasta Bake
Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 pound crawfish, peeled
  • 1 (8 ounce) package processed cheese food, cubed
  • 1 cup half-and-half cream
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 pound dry fettuccini pasta
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the green onion, green pepper, and garlic until they become translucent. Combine the mixture with flour and cook for 7 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
2
Introduce crawfish meat into the skillet and cover it with a lid. Simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
3
Add processed cheese, half and half, Cajun seasoning, and tomato to the skillet. Cover it again and simmer for another 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4
Prepare pasta according to the package instructions by boiling a large pot of salted water until it reaches a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until it reaches the al dente stage. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
5
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
6
Combine the sauce and pasta, then transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until it's golden brown and bubbly.
