Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 (16 ounce) cans baked beans with pork
- 1 (4 ounce) can canned chopped green chile peppers
- 1 small Vidalia onion, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup barbeque sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabascoâ„¢), or to taste
Instructions
1
Heat a skillet over medium heat and sear the ground beef until it reaches a safe internal temperature, breaking up any clumps as you go; discard the excess fat and set the cooked meat aside temporarily.
2
Combine the ground beef, baked beans, diced green chilies, chopped onion, and barbecue sauce in a 3 1/2 quart or larger slow cooker. Add a pinch of brown sugar, some garlic powder, a sprinkle of chili powder, and a dash of hot pepper sauce to give the dish extra flavor.
3
Cook the mixture on HIGH for 2 hours, or on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, depending on your schedule and the desired level of tenderness.
