Spicy Bacon and Cheese Fat Bombs
Ingredients
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 lime, zested
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 serrano peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 4 sprigs cilantro, chopped
Instructions
1
Begin by preheating your oven to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius for those using metric measurements). To make the process of removing the baked goods afterwards easier, cover a baking sheet with a layer of aluminum foil.
2
Next, arrange the bacon strips in a single, even layer on the prepared baking sheet. This will help them cook evenly and prevent any overlap during the cooking process.
3
Place the bacon strips in the preheated oven and bake until they reach your desired level of browning and crispiness, taking approximately 15 minutes to achieve this. Remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool by draining it on paper towels.
4
While your bacon is cooking, prepare a mixture of cream cheese, butter, and Cheddar cheese in a bowl. Incorporate some added flavor by adding lime zest, fresh lime juice, and minced garlic to the mixture. Also, fold in some diced serrano pepper before refrigerating the mixture until it reaches a chilled and stiff consistency, which should take around 10 minutes.
5
Once your cream cheese mixture has cooled and firmed up, divide it into six equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball.
6
In the meantime, chop your cooked bacon and mix it with some chopped cilantro in a bowl. To assemble the fat bombs, roll one ball at a time in the bowl until it is well-coated with both ingredients. Finally, serve your creations cold.
