Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef chuck
- 2 large white onions, chopped
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with juice
- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can beer
- 2 (15 ounce) cans spicy chili beans
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabascoâ„¢), or to taste
- 1/3 cup chili powder
- 4 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
- 3 tablespoons red pepper flakes, or to taste
Instructions
1
Heat a skillet over medium heat, then add the ground chuck and break it up into small pieces.
2
Continue cooking until the beef is uniformly browned, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Remove excess fat from the skillet.
3
Transfer the cooked beef to a large, heavy-bottomed pot. Add diced onions, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, beer, and chili beans to the pot.
4
Season the mixture with a variety of spices, including Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, chili powder, jalapenos, and red pepper flakes if desired.
5
Cover the pot with a lid and gently simmer over low heat for 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.
6
Once finished cooking, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool before refrigerating it for at least 2 days. This step allows the flavors to mature and blend together.
7
Finally, reheat the chilled chili before serving.
