Soy Ginger Grilled Chicken
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 slices fresh ginger root
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
Instructions
1
Gather all the necessary ingredients and supplies.
2
Mix together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small microwave-safe bowl. Heat the mixture in the microwave on medium power for 1 minute, then stir thoroughly. Stir again for an additional 30 seconds, being cautious not to let it boil over.
3
Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish and pour the soy sauce mixture over them. Allow the chicken to marinate for 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to penetrate.
4
Preheat an outdoor grill over medium-high heat and brush the grate lightly with oil. Meanwhile, take the chicken out of its marinade and transfer the remaining marinade to a small saucepan. Bring the marinade to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer until it thickens, about 1 minute. Set aside for future use.
5
Cook the chicken on the preheated grill, basting it frequently with the reserved marinade, until it is golden brown on all sides and no longer pink in the center. This should take about 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
