Heat a large skillet over medium heat, adding the olive oil and butter to melt. Once melted, add the crumbled bacon, minced garlic, and chopped onion to the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing the ingredients to meld together. Next, add the fresh spinach leaves to the skillet and stir until they are evenly coated with the butter and oil mixture. Cover the skillet, then lower the heat to a low simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the spinach is tender. Finally, season with salt and pepper to taste.
