Southern Giblet Gravy
Ingredients
  • 1 quart water
  • giblets from a turkey
  • 1/4 medium yellow onion
  • 1 stalk celery, cut in half
  • 1 cube chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 4 large hard-cooked eggs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
1
Acquire all necessary components for the dish.
2
Boil water, along with giblets, onion, celery, bouillon, salt, and pepper in a 2-quart saucepan for approximately 40 to 50 minutes.
3
Transfer liver and neck to a cutting board; chop the meat into smaller pieces and set it aside. Discard any remaining celery, onion, neck muscle, or other giblets that were not used.
4
Return the chopped liver and neck meat to the saucepan; add chicken broth, and then stir in chopped eggs. Set the mixture over medium heat.
5
In a small bowl, combine milk and cornstarch to form a paste. Gradually add this mixture to the saucepan, stirring constantly.
6
Once the heat is reduced to low, continue to cook and stir until the gravy has thickened to your liking, taking around 3 to 5 minutes.
7
Serve the dish hot and indulge in its delicious flavors.
