- 2 Syrian dried limes (dried black limes)
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons light honey, or to taste

Mash limes using a mortar and pestle until the fragments break down into tiny, granular pieces.

Mix water with crushed lime in a saucepan and heat it up to a rolling boil over an elevated heat setting. Decrease the heat level and let it gently simmer for 5 minutes.

Pass the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into 4 tea cups and add honey to taste, if desired. Serve the drink hot or chilled
