- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Collect all necessary components for the recipe.

Melt butter, brown sugar, condensed milk, corn syrup, and salt in a substantial saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring persistently. Heat to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small portion of the mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface. Cook for 2 minutes at that temperature.

Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in vanilla essence.

In the meantime, grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with butter.

Once the caramel is ready, pour it into the prepared pan. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature.

Once cooled, remove the caramel from the pan and cut into squares using scissors. Wrap individual pieces in waxed paper or cellophane
