Smoky Bean Breakfast Bake
Ingredients
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans
  • 1 (16 ounce) can great Northern beans, drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans
  • 1 (16 ounce) can red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Preheat the oven to a high temperature, specifically 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius.

Place the bacon in a large, deep skillet and cook over high heat until it's evenly browned. Remove the bacon from the skillet, reserving 2 tablespoons of its juices, and crumble it into a large bowl. Continue to cook the bacon in the skillet until all of its fat has been released.

Add the onion and garlic to the skillet with the reserved bacon juices, cooking until the onion is tender. Discard any excess fat and transfer the cooked onion mixture to the bowl with the crumbled bacon.

Add the pinto beans, northern beans, baked beans, kidney beans, and garbanzo beans to the bowl with the bacon mixture. Stir in ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and black pepper to combine.

Mix the ingredients well and transfer them to a 9x12 inch casserole dish. Cover the dish with a lid.

Bake the mixture in the preheated oven for 1 hour, allowing it to simmer and meld together.
