Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 bunch Swiss chard, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups sliced button mushrooms
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons smoked salmon
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups low-fat milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- chopped fresh chives for garnish
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius). Next, spray a 9-inch pie plate with non-stick cooking spray to ensure easy food release.
2
Heat some oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the Swiss chard, mushrooms, and onion to it. Continue cooking these ingredients while stirring occasionally until they become tender and most of the liquid has evaporated, which should take around 10 minutes.
3
Now, spread the cooked chard mixture evenly across the bottom of your prepared pie plate. After that, cut the salmon into smaller pieces and arrange them uniformly over the chard layer.
4
In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, nutmeg, and pepper to create the egg mixture. Pour this mixture evenly over the salmon pieces in the pie plate.
5
Finally, bake your dish in the oven until a knife inserted into its center comes out clean, which should take around 28 to 30 minutes. Remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before cutting it into wedges.
