Slow Cooker Venison Chili
Ingredients
  • 1 pound boneless venison steak, cubed
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • hot pepper sauce to taste
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (15.5 ounce) can cannellini beans, drained
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chiles
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder, or to taste
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese for garnish
Instructions
1
Begin by placing a combination of venison and sausage in a substantial skillet over medium heat. Continue cooking until the meat is no longer pink and has an even, rich brown color, periodically breaking it apart with a wooden utensil as needed. Remove excess fat from the skillet.
2
Next, add sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until they emit a fragrant aroma, approximately 3 minutes. Remove any remaining fat from the skillet.
3
Subsequently, stir in a concentrated paste made from tomatoes and introduce a dash of hot pepper sauce, salt, and black pepper to enhance the flavor.
4
In a separate container, combine cannellini beans, diced tomatoes, and chili powder. Then, add the previously prepared venison mixture to this blend.
5
Transfer the entire mixture to a slow cooker and cover it.
6
Proceed by cooking on Low for 8-10 hours or High for approximately 5 hours.
7
Finally, sprinkle each serving with shredded Cheddar cheese.
