Ingredients
- 1 (6 pound) bone-in turkey breast
- 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
Instructions
1
Begin by thoroughly washing the turkey breast under cold running water, then gently pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Remove any unnecessary skin from the breast, but preserve the skin that covers it.
2
Next, generously sprinkle a generous amount of onion soup mix evenly over the outside surface of the turkey breast, making sure to coat it thoroughly.
3
Subsequently, place the seasoned turkey in a slow cooker and cover it with a lid. Set the slow cooker to High heat for 1 hour, followed by a transition to Low heat, where it will continue to cook for an additional 7 hours.
4
To ensure the turkey is cooked through, insert a food thermometer into the thickest part of the breast, near the bone. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
5
Finally, serve the tender turkey breast with a rich and savory gravy.
