Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 large yellow onions, diced
- 4 large celery ribs, diced - or more to taste
- 1 (8 ounce) package dry bread stuffing mix with seasoning packet
- 1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (7 pound) bone-in turkey breast with pop-up timer
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1
Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Allow the onions and celery to cook until they become translucent, taking around 8 minutes to achieve this. Remove the skillet from the heat source.
2
Next, place a plastic slow cooker liner into a 6-quart slow cooker. Fill the liner bag with dry bread stuffing and sprinkle the contents of the seasoning packet over it. Combine the cooked onions and celery, cranberry sauce, 1/2 cup of melted butter, chicken broth, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into the dressing mix, stirring thoroughly to avoid puncturing the bag.
3
Prepare the turkey breast by rinsing it under cold water and patting it dry with paper towels. Season the turkey breast with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, taking care not to overdo it.
4
Carefully push the dressing mixture towards one edge of the slow cooker, making room for the turkey breast. Place the turkey breast into the slow cooker with the pop-up timer facing upwards, ensuring it is centered and secure.
5
Cook the turkey breast on High for 4 to 4 1/2 hours, or until the pop-up timer goes off.
6
Once cooked, transfer the turkey breast to a cutting board and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Transfer the dressing to a serving bowl and serve alongside the turkey breast
