Slow Cooker Smoked White Bean Soup
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups dried great Northern beans, rinsed
  • 2 large smoked neck bones
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon soul seasoning
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar, or to taste
  • 1 pinch white sugar, or to taste
  • 1 dash hot sauce, or to taste
Instructions
1
Prepare the necessary components by collecting all required ingredients.
2
Soak the beans in a large container, covering them with several inches of cool water, and allow them to sit for 8 hours or overnight.
3
Subsequently, drain the beans and rinse them; set them aside for later use.
4
Place chicken neck bones in a slow cooker, followed by pouring chicken broth over the bones; add soul seasoning to the mixture.
5
Cook the neck bones in the slow cooker on High heat until the meat falls off the bone, approximately 1 hour.
6
Transfer the cooked bones and shredded meat to a plate; carefully remove the meat from the bones, discarding the bones in the process.
7
Combine the cooked beans, onion, vinegar, sugar, and hot sauce in the slow cooker; spread the shredded meat evenly over the bean mixture.
8
Cook the bean and meat mixture in the slow cooker on Low for 4 to 6 hours or High for 2 to 4 hours.
