Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 (8 ounce) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
- 1 (28 ounce) jar pasta sauce
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 2 large cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1
Sear the meat cutlets on both sides in a large cooking vessel over an elevated heat setting. Move them to a thermal container for prolonged cooking.
2
Heat a generous amount of olive oil in the same cooking vessel over a moderate heat setting. Sauté the onion in hot oil until it reaches a rich brown color. Introduce the mushrooms and bell pepper into the mixture; cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender. Combine the mushrooms and bell pepper with pasta sauce, crushed tomatoes, and a splash of white wine. Add flavor with garlic, herbs, and aromatic spices. Pour the sauce over the meat cutlets in the thermal container.
3
Simmer for 7 to 8 hours on a low setting. To serve, place a slice of melted cheese over each cutlet and cover with the savory sauce.
