- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 (2 1/2 pound) beef roast, or more to taste
- 1 (1 ounce) packet dry au jus mix
- 1 (1 ounce) package French onion soup mix
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Malbec red wine
Instructions
1
Mix together the steak seasoning, salt, thyme, and rosemary in a bowl to create a custom blend.
2
Rub this mixture all over the roast, ensuring it's evenly coated.
3
Heat a substantial skillet over a moderately high heat and carefully position the roast in the skillet.
4
Allow it to sear on all sides, which should take roughly 10 minutes.
5
Transfer the roast to a slow cooker and combine it with the au jus mix and onion soup mix.
6
Add water and Malbec to the slow cooker, making sure the roast is fully submerged.
7
Cook on High for 5 hours or on Low for 8 to 9 hours, depending on your desired level of tenderness.
