Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 (8 pound) spiral-cut ham, or more to taste
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
1
Preheat your slow cooker by spraying its insert with cooking spray and placing the ham inside
2
Combine honey, brown sugar, mustard, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture thoroughly until sugar dissolves and all ingredients are well incorporated, taking about 2 to 5 minutes. Take the saucepan off the heat.
3
Add water to the bottom of your slow cooker, followed by pouring the honey-sugar mixture over the ham. Cover it with a lid.
4
Place your slow cooker on Low and let it cook for 6 to 8 hours. Every hour, baste the ham with the juices that have accumulated at the bottom of the slow cooker.
5
Once you've removed the ham from the slow cooker, pour the remaining juices into a saucepan over medium heat. In another bowl, mix cornstarch with water and pour it into the saucepan. Cook until the mixture thickens into a glaze, which should take about 6 to 8 minutes. You can then pour the glaze over the ham or use it as a gravy
