  • 4 pounds chuck roast
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped

Preheat your kitchen by heating a generous amount of oil in a substantial skillet over extremely high heat; then, carefully place the chuck roast inside and cook until it develops a rich brown color on both sides, approximately 4 minutes per side.

Next, position the chuck roast in a slow cooker and generously sprinkle the contents of the soup mix packet on top. Add water to the slow cooker, followed by a scattering of carrots, potatoes, onion, and celery on its surface.

Finally, cover the slow cooker and allow it to cook at a low temperature for an extended period of 8 to 10 hours.
