Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon chipotle hot sauce (such as Cholula®)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon agave syrup
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1 (8 ounce) package coleslaw mix
- 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 green onions, chopped, or more to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
1
Combine the pungent flavors of chipotle hot sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and agave syrup in a small bowl to create the base of our savory sauce.
2
Heat a generous amount of olive oil and sesame oil in a large wok or skillet over medium heat. Add ground turkey; cook, stirring constantly to break up clumps, until the juices flow freely and the meat is cooked through, approximately 6 minutes. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance the flavor. Transfer the cooked turkey to a separate bowl, reserving the juices that have accumulated in the wok.
3
Combine shredded coleslaw mix, diced red bell pepper, chopped green onions, and minced garlic in the wok; cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the slaw is slightly tender and has lost some of its crunch, about 1 to 2 minutes. Introduce the sauce; mix everything together until well combined, approximately 1 minute. Return the cooked turkey to the wok and stir until heated through, about 2 to 3 minutes.
4
Finish the dish by sprinkling a generous amount of sesame seeds over the slaw before serving.
