Begin by filling the bottom of an Irish coffee glass with a combination of softened butter, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground allspice, and a few drops of vanilla extract.

Next, carefully pour in the dark rum and hot water into the glass, making sure to fill it about 2/3 full.
