Simple Spinach Salad
Ingredients
  • 4 slices bacon, or more to taste
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag fresh spinach, stems removed
  • 2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
1
Heat a skillet over medium heat, and carefully insert the bacon into it. Allow the bacon to cook until it reaches a golden brown color, and becomes crispy on both sides, stirring frequently for approximately 10 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a stack of paper towels to drain any excess oil. Once cooled, break the bacon into smaller pieces.
2
Next, place a large serving container in the middle of your table. Add an abundance of fresh spinach leaves to the bowl, followed by sprinkling the crispy bacon bits, diced hard-cooked eggs, and thinly sliced onion on top. Gently mix the ingredients together using a spoon or your hands.
3
In another bowl, combine sugar, ketchup, vegetable oil, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Use a whisk to thoroughly blend the ingredients until the sugar has fully dissolved. Pour this dressing mixture over the salad, and make sure all the ingredients are well combined by stirring them thoroughly.
