  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 (6 ounce) packages dry bread stuffing mix

Combine the ground sausage, chopped celery, and diced onion in a medium-sized pan over a moderate temperature setting. Heat the mixture, stirring constantly, until the sausage has turned a brown color and is broken down into small pieces, taking around 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer the cooked mixture to a plate lined with paper towels in order to absorb any excess oil that may be present.

Place water into a large-sized cooking vessel and bring it to a rolling boil. Introduce butter into the mixture, stirring until it has fully dissolved and melted. Add a prepared stuffing mix, cover the vessel with a lid, and then remove it from the heat source. Allow the mixture to sit for 5 minutes in order to allow the ingredients to rehydrate and become more pliable. Add the cooked sausage mixture to the saucepan, stirring it in thoroughly to combine with the other ingredients.
