- 1 1/3 cups uncooked long-grain rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Heat the butter in a substantial pan over high heat. Sear the green onion in the hot butter for a short time, then introduce the rice into the pan. Cook and stir until the rice is lightly browned, approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Introduce water into the pan; add chicken bouillon and pepper for flavor enhancement. Bring to a rolling boil, then decrease the heat to low heat. Cover and let cook for 20 minutes.

Take the pan off the heat source. Allow it to rest, covered, for 5 minutes. Add Parmesan cheese into the pan and stir gently.
