Ingredients
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
Instructions
1
Combine the dry ingredients, including flour, garlic salt, pepper, and oregano, in a bowl.
2
This initial mixture will form the base of our coating.
3
Dip the chicken pieces into this dry mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated with a thin layer of the ingredients.
4
The chicken should now be lightly dusted.
5
Heat the oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
6
The pan is now ready to receive our chicken.
7
Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until it develops a light brown color on both sides, approximately 4 minutes in total.
8
The chicken is now partially cooked.
9
Flip the chicken over and add sliced mushrooms to the skillet.
10
The addition of mushrooms will enhance our dish.
11
Continue cooking, stirring the mushrooms occasionally, until the chicken is fully browned on both sides and reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
12
The chicken is now fully cooked.
13
Pour Marsala wine over the top of the chicken.
14
This step will add a rich flavor to our dish.
15
Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet.
16
The chicken will now simmer gently.
17
Simmer, covered, until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, approximately 10 minutes.
18
The chicken is now fully cooked.
