  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1 1/2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 (6 ounce) package provolone cheese, sliced
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 (6 ounce) package mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Begin by filling a substantial container with salted water and placing it on the stovetop to reach boiling point. Cook pasta in this boiling water for 8-10 minutes, or until it reaches the desired level of firmness; then drain.

In a large and substantial cooking vessel, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the onion in this oil until it becomes tender and palatable. Stir in some fragrant rosemary and garlic, then transfer the mixture to a small container for later use.

In another vessel, combine ground beef and sausage. Cook over medium-high heat until these ingredients are evenly browned. Stir in the onion mixture and a savory spaghetti sauce, then season with salt to taste. Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.

Preheat your oven to a moderate temperature of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with some cooking oil. In the prepared dish, layer half of the cooked pasta, a blend of provolone cheese and sour cream, some cottage cheese, and half of the meat mixture. Then layer the rest of the pasta, a blend of mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese, the remaining meat mixture, and finally some additional Parmesan cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, or until heated through and the cheeses have melted to perfection.
