Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
- 5 green onions, chopped
- 1 cup water, or as needed
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions
1
Preheat your cooking vessel by heating the oil in a large, deep pan over an intermediate temperature. Introduce the minced garlic and cook for a short period of time, merely until its aroma becomes apparent. Incorporate the ground pork and cook, stirring constantly, until it no longer retains its raw appearance, taking approximately 5 minutes to achieve this. Add the prawns and cook, stirring regularly, until they turn a deep pink hue.
2
Combine the soy sauce, sugar, and chopped green onions in the pan. Introduce 2 cups of water into the mixture and bring it to a rolling boil. Allow the liquid to simmer for 3 minutes, then prepare a slurry by mixing the remaining water with cornstarch. Gradually add this mixture to the pan, stirring gently to prevent lumps from forming. Continue to simmer until the sauce thickens, then switch off the heat source to maintain its smooth consistency. Incorporate beaten eggs into the sauce and serve it immediately over a bed of cooked rice.
