Ingredients
- 1 (9 inch) deep dish frozen pie crust
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 dashes hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabascoâ„¢), or to taste
- 1 (8 ounce) package imitation crabmeat, flaked
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 stalk green onion, chopped
Instructions
1
Heat your oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Place the pie crust in the oven and let it cook until it begins to turn a light golden color, approximately 10 minutes. Set the pie crust aside to stop it from cooking further and allow it to calm down.
3
At the same time, mix together eggs, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and hot sauce in a large mixing container until everything is fully incorporated. Add the crab meat, Monterey Jack cheese, Parmesan cheese, and green onion to the mixture and stir until well combined.
4
Pour the crab mixture into the cooled pie crust, making sure to fill it completely.
5
Put the pie crust in the oven and let it cook for 25 to 30 minutes. Turn off the oven, keep the door closed, and let the quiche continue to cook in the dark until it feels firm to the touch, 20 to 30 minutes. Once done, remove the quiche from the oven and serve it immediately.
