Ingredients
- 6 quarts water, and more as needed
- 1/4 cup seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
- 1 pound small red potatoes
- 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®), or to taste
- 2 pounds king crab legs
- 2 cups chopped carrots
- 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
- 12 pearl onions
- 1 pound spicy sausage links, cut into rounds
- 4 ears corn, husked
- 2 pounds unpeeled shrimp
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components and fill a large cooking vessel with 6 quarts of water; heat the mixture to its boiling point.
2
Add a quarter cup of seafood flavoring to the pot for enhanced taste.
3
Simmer diced potatoes in this seasoned water for 15 minutes, allowing them to become tender.
4
In a separate large pot, bring the water to its boiling point once more; add an additional teaspoon of seafood seasoning for added flavor.
5
Cook the crab legs in this seasoned water until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork, approximately 10 minutes.
6
Remove the cooked crab legs from the water and set them aside.
7
Add sliced carrots, chopped celery, and diced onions to the potatoes; continue cooking until these vegetables are tender, roughly 10 minutes.
8
Introduce sliced sausage and frozen corn into the pot; continue boiling for an additional 5 minutes, allowing these ingredients to cook through.
9
Add peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot along with the cooked crab legs; continue cooking until the shrimp have turned bright pink on the outside and their meat is opaque, approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
