Ingredients
- 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 pounds swede (rutabaga), peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 bunch scallions, finely chopped
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

Fill a large container with water, making sure to submerge the potatoes and swede completely.

Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then continue cooking until it reaches your desired level of tenderness, approximately 15 minutes.

Drain the excess water from the container.

Use a fork or masher to combine butter and mustard powder with the potatoes and swede until they form a smooth, cohesive mixture.

Introduce chopped scallions into the potato and swede mixture, along with a pinch of salt and pepper.
