Introduce 1/8 cup of batter into the skillet, allowing it to cook until tiny bubbles start forming on its surface; flip and continue cooking until the underside is lightly browned, taking approximately 1 to 2 minutes per side. Reapply butter to the skillet between batches of cooking.
