Savory Swedish Meatballs
Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup dry cream of wheat cereal
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). This will ensure that the heat is evenly distributed and ready for cooking.
2
In a large mixing container, combine the egg and milk. Using an electric whisk or spoon, blend these two ingredients together until well incorporated. Next, add the beef, cream of wheat, and onion to the mixture and stir until everything is fully combined.
3
To form the meatballs, take small portions of the mixture and shape them into 1 inch balls. Place these balls onto a lightly greased baking sheet, making sure they are not touching each other.
4
Place the meatballs in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for approximately 20 minutes, or until they are cooked through. If excess moisture is present, you can drain the meatballs on paper towels before proceeding.
5
To add a rich and creamy sauce, place the cooked meatballs in a lightly greased 2 quart casserole dish. In another mixing container, combine the soups and evaporated milk. Using a spoon or whisk, blend these ingredients together until smooth.
6
Pour the sauce over the meatballs and bake uncovered in the oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for an additional 40 minutes, or until the sauce is heated through and bubbly. Finally, sprinkle some fresh parsley on top of the dish before serving.
