Savory Stuffed Mushrooms
Ingredients
  • 12 whole fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer). Next, spray a baking sheet with cooking spray to prevent food from sticking.
2
Clean the mushrooms thoroughly by gently wiping them with a damp paper towel, taking care not to bruise their delicate flesh. Remove the mushroom stems carefully and chop them into extremely fine pieces, discarding any tough or fibrous ends.
3
In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and the finely chopped mushroom stems to the pan; cook until all excess moisture has evaporated, being mindful not to burn the garlic. Set the mixture aside to cool.
4
In a separate bowl, combine softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, onion powder, and a pinch of cayenne. The mixture will be quite dense; use a spoon to fill each mushroom cap with an abundance of the stuffing. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet.
5
Bake the mushrooms in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until they are hot and tender.
