- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed beef consomme
- 1 (7 ounce) can mushroom stems and pieces
- 1 1/4 cups instant white rice (such as Minute®)

Heat the butter in a pan over an average temperature setting, stirring occasionally.

Add the chopped onion and cook until it has lost its rawness and turned a warm, sunny color, approximately 5 to 8 minutes.

Introduce the consommé and sliced mushrooms into the pan, stirring until they reach a rolling boil.

Take the pan off the heat source and blend in the cooked rice, covering it to allow the liquid to be absorbed by the grains, usually around 5 minutes.
