Savory Mexican Taco Quiche
Ingredients
  • 5 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) jar chunky salsa
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 (16 ounce) package shredded Mexican-style cheese blend
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked deep dish pie crust
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature, 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), by adjusting the dial or pressing the corresponding button on your oven's control panel.
2
In a large mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, salsa, diced bell pepper, chopped onion, and shredded cheese. Add a pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper to enhance the flavors. Set the mixture aside for now.
3
In a separate pan, heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches a scorching temperature. Add the ground beef and stir constantly, allowing it to break down into small, uniform pieces. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the beef is no longer pink and has a rich, brown color. Remove any excess fat from the pan using a paper towel or a spoon.
4
Add the taco seasoning to the cooked beef and stir until it's well combined.
5
Spoon the meat mixture into a pie crust placed in a 9-inch pie dish, filling it to the brim.
6
Pour the egg mixture over the beef in the pie crust.
7
Bake the quiche in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to an hour, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
8
Allow the quiche to cool for 10 minutes before serving it warm and straight from the oven.
