- 1 pound ground beef
- 12 ounces chorizo sausage
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (14 ounce) can prepared chili
- 1 (14 ounce) can butter beans
- 3/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon salt-free seasoning blend (such as Mrs. Dash® Chipotle seasoning)
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preheat a skillet over medium heat and pour in olive oil. Introduce the onion and garlic into the pan, then cook and stir until they become soft and fragrant, approximately 5 minutes. Combine the ground beef and chorizo in the skillet and cook, separating the meat with a spoon while stirring constantly, until it loses its pink color, around 10 to 15 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker and add diced tomatoes, chili, butter beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, seasoning blend, salt, and pepper. Close the lid of the slow cooker and cook on High for 3 to 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.
