  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen baby lima beans
  • 1/4 cup water, or as needed to cover

Preheat a large saucepan over medium heat and give it a light coating of cooking spray.

Next, add sliced onions to the hot pan and cook until they become soft and lose their crunchiness, approximately 5 minutes.

Now, pour in chicken broth into the pan and bring it to a rolling boil.

Add frozen or fresh lima beans to the boiling liquid, just enough water to cover them.

Return the saucepan to a boil and then gradually decrease the heat to a low simmer, cover it with a lid, and let it cook until the lima beans are tender, taking around 30 minutes.
