Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground pork breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 pounds tater tots

Preheat the oven to a high heat setting of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Put the sausage in a large, deep frying pan and cook over an intense heat setting until it's uniformly browned on all sides, taking around 5 to 7 minutes. Remove excess fat and spread the sausage out evenly across the base of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of the sausage.

In a large mixing bowl, combine milk and eggs. Blend them together until smooth, then pour the mixture over the cheese. At this point, you can refrigerate the dish overnight if desired to allow the flavors to meld together.

Top the casserole with a layer of tater tots.
